Supported Independent Living (SIL) Newcastle, Maitland & the Hunter
A home of your own, with the support to match.
Independence isn't one-size-fits-all. Whether you're building new skills, living with others, or stepping into a new chapter, we're here to provide the day-to-day support you need to live in your own home—your way.
At LOMA Care, we’re here to make it simple, clear, and tailored to you. We’re happy to review your plan with you.
Your day to day
SIL provides daily living support in a home environment, whether that's one-on-one or shared with others. Support is built around your routine, your goals and your preferences.
That might look like help with personal care, cooking and cleaning, overnight and active support when you need it, assistance with medication and appointments, or working alongside your allied health team to support your overall wellbeing.
Every setup is different because every person is.

Is SIL right for you?
If you need regular, reliable support to live at home and you're ready to work toward greater independence with the right team around you, SIL could be exactly what you're looking for.
Whether that's support for most of the day, overnight, or around the clock, we're here to give you the structure, the safety and the freedom to live as fully as possible on your own terms.

A home you can feel safe in. A team you can trust.
Your home should feel calm, comfortable and genuinely yours and that's exactly what we build.
Every LOMA Care SIL home is independently audited and part of the Official Community Visitor program meaning someone comes to check in, speak with our participants, and make sure everyone is well supported.
Your support team is matched to you by personality, interests and preferences. A consistent group of people who know you, show up for you, and grow with you over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SIL with LOMA Care.
How is SIL funded?
SIL is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan. It's generally available for people who need significant daily support to live at home. We don't need to see your plan to get started, but we're always happy to review it with you and explore what's possible.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Yes — and it matters more than you might think. A lot of SIL providers aren't registered, which means they operate without independent oversight or regulation. As a registered provider we're audited regularly, held to a higher standard, and fully approved to deliver SIL and daily activities. You deserve to know who's accountable for your care.
Do I need a Support Coordinator to apply?
Not necessarily, you can reach out to us directly. But if you have a Support Coordinator, we're happy to work alongside them to make the process as smooth as possible.
What support ratios are available?
We offer a range of support ratios including 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 depending on your needs and the property. We'll work with you to find the right fit.
What is the SIL compatibility process?
Before moving in, we'll assess your support needs, preferences and goals to make sure the home and team are the right match for you. This includes reviewing reports from your coordinator, a home walkthrough, and introductions to your support team before day one.
What's the difference between SIL and ILO?
SIL is designed for people who need support most or all of the time. ILO is a more flexible option for people who need some support but not around the clock. Not sure which is right for you? We're happy to talk it through.
What if my needs change over time?
We build flexibility into every arrangement. Whether you're just starting out with SIL, transitioning from another support, or your needs evolve over time, we adjust with you. You can have options around privacy, shared support, and even who you live with.
