Community Access Newcastle, Maitland & the Hunter
Out and about, your way.
Being independent isn't just about where you live. It's about being part of the world around you. On your own terms, at your own pace.
At LOMA Care, we’re here to make it simple, clear, and tailored to you. We’re happy to review your plan with you.
Your day to day
Community Access support is designed to help you get out, get involved and move through your community with confidence.
That might look like getting to and from appointments, exploring local services, joining social outings or trying something new. Whatever matters to you, we're here to support your participation in it.
You set the goals. We help you get there.

Is Community Access right for you?
Community Access is for anyone who wants to engage more fully with their community but needs a little support to do it confidently.
Whether you're building social connections, working toward greater independence outside the home, or simply want someone alongside you as you navigate the world, Community Access gives you the freedom to participate on your own terms.

Independence is nothing without involvement
Independence isn't just about where you live, it's about how you move through the world. Community Access is one of the most powerful ways we can support that.
We match you with experienced, trained support workers who understand your goals and respect your boundaries. We work with you to set meaningful, achievable goals each step of the way and we measure success the same way we do across everything we do, not by how much support you need, but by how much less you need over time.
Your community is out there. We'll help you make it yours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Community Access with LOMA Care.
How is Community Access funded?
Community Access is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation in your NDIS plan. It's flexible funding that can cover weekly outings, one-off events, appointments and more. We don't need to see your plan upfront but we're always happy to discuss how our services align with your goals.
How often can I access Community Access support?
That depends on what's funded in your NDIS plan. Support can be as regular as daily or as occasional as a single event. We'll work with you and your Support Coordinator to make the most of what's available to you.
Can I choose what activities I do?
Absolutely — Community Access is entirely goal based. You tell us what matters to you and we build the support around that. Whether it's appointments, social outings, classes or exploring something new, you're in control.
Can Community Access support help with transport?
Yes. Support can include getting to and from activities, appointments and events. We'll work with you to make sure transport is factored into your support plan.
What if I'm nervous about getting out in the community?
That's completely understandable and it's exactly what we're here for. We'll go at your pace, build your confidence gradually and make sure you always feel safe and supported. There's no pressure to do more than you're ready for.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Yes, and it matters. As a registered provider, we're independently audited, held to a higher standard, and fully accountable for the support we deliver. A lot of providers aren't registered, which means they operate without that level of oversight. You deserve to know who's responsible for your care.
